We are currently accepting applications to the 2023 junior and senior allgirl cheerleading national teams. We will hold pre try outs to work on the expected skills and in order to prepare you for the try outs.

General Information

  • An application should be made, if possible as a complete stunt group (flyer, main, side and back)
  • Age Groups:
    • Seniors 16+ (born 2007 and older)
    • Juniors 15 – 18 years old in the year of the World Championships -> in 2023 (born
      2005 – 2008)
  • 3 of the 4 athletes of the group should meet the requirements in tumbling and be
    able to do it on hard floor.
  • Physical fitness & condition are basic requirements and will be tested in training.
  • The joint practices will take place every 5-6 weeks. In addition, a training camp is
    planned in February/March 2023.

Application process

  • If you meet the requirements as well as the basic and advanced routine stunts/tosses, then apply for the 2023 National Team.
  • Application forms for the National Teams will be sent out at a later date.
  • Apply even if you don’t meet all the requirements yet, but are ready to train towards them!

Try out national Teams 2023

Selection procedure

For the try out, all requirements are viewed. In preparation, additional elements can be requested individually as a video.

Costs

The national team members are asked to actively participate in the help of sponsors/ patrons.

The federation (SCA) will try to cover part of the costs with the help of Swiss Olympic.

Own costs

A rate of approximately 600 CHF per season is estimated for the female athletes. This is payable in two installments and includes:

Full board and lodging to all trainings in Switzerland.
Support by national team staff during and between practices. National team shirt

For all athletes accepted in the World Championships squad, a World Championship participation fee of 900 CHF, in addition to the National Team rate above, will be added. This fee includes:

  • Full board and lodging during the stay in the USA in the expected travel period.
  • Local transportation, including tolls and gasoline costs
  • Costs for the use of practice halls on site
  • World Championship entry fee
  • Support by national team coaches and national team staff
  • Costs of equipment and routine music
  • An info about the scheduling of the rates will follow after the tryout. Attention: The costs for your flight to the World Championships are not included in the fee.
  • COVID-19 Situation Participation in the national team is conditional on all athletes adhering to the guidelines of Swiss Olympic and the Covid-19 entry regulations of the USA.

  • Back handspring (2 out of 4 athletes)
  • Standing Tuck (1 out of 4 athletes)

Running Tumbling

  • Back handspring (2 out of 4 athletes )
  • Back handspring + Back Tuck (1 out of 4 athletes)

Flyer
Standing leg of the flyer is on the right
One-leg-stunt transitions should also be safe on the left leg
Body positions:

  • Stretch (both sides)
  • Arabesque/Scale/Scorpion

Juniors

  • Standing Tuck (1 out of 4 athletes)

  • Back handspring (2 out of 4 athletes )
